I have never admired an empty soap bottle so much in my life until I played Half Life: Alyx. Coming right out from Vader Immortal, Half Life was my 2nd ever VR experience.
I spent a good hour really just picking up random things and really just admiring every single detail of the game. And walking down the dimly lit hallways gave me the creeps. As for gameplay mechanics, it really took some time getting used to. Half Life: Alyx introduces a smart way of picking things up with the Gravity Gloves especially for lazy people like me.
As for the guns, it feels like there’s a powerful punch to it. Shooting things just seems so sastisfying until you realize that ammo is limited. This experience has spoilt all other VR experiences for me. To date, I have yet to find something as good as Half Life: Alyx.
