The M2 Plus, which costs $99 USD, was delivered in a straightforward and compact form. Our box’s cover had significant dents, but the contents were completely safe and undamaged. The M2 Plus is basically an improvement over the previously available M2 Pro, and this time around a Twin Battery Combo option with a standalone charging station called Twin Charging has been included. At the time of writing, the alternative M2 strap is currently on sale for $39.99 USD without the Battery Pack.
Our initial thoughts were that the head strap appeared to be very solidly constructed and matched the style of Meta Quest 2 with its white and black lining coloured accents. When we look closely, we can notice that the back headrest portions, their forehead area, and their head area are all covered in nice PU leather-textured padding.
This time, BOBOVR updated the back head rest with a more flexible support design akin to that of the Elite Strap, and the battery power dock slot was neatly positioned behind the head rest. Additionally, BOBOVR supplied an additional honey-combed back head rest pads that can be used for a variety of comfort-related activities.
When utilising VR for long periods of time, the M2 Plus claims to lessen pressure on the face and reduce stress on the head. The stock strap that came with the Meta Quest 2 always felt front-heavy and was difficult to adjust in some circumstances. In contrast, the M2 Plus seems balanced. To balance the headset, the battery pack now adds 140g to the back.
The magnetic hot-change mechanism of this strap, which allows you to quickly swap out one battery for another when necessary, is something you will undoubtedly appreciate. You’ll know the battery is in the right spot when you hear a brief, pleasant beep. If you keep rotating and exchanging your charged battery packs with the provided Twin Charging Station, this will give you access to endless power. We tried it continuously and utilised it nonstop for almost 8 hours without experiencing any power outages in VR.
Finally, what we do know about BOBOVR is that they have paid attention to customer input and have improved by updating their accessories. The price is reasonable given the high quality of construction of this head strap, and if the original supplied stock strap’s were causing you neck discomfort, you would undoubtedly appreciate the upgrade and what this headstrap has to offer.

BOBOVR from Xiaozhai founded in China 2014, was formerly a manufacturer of VR HMDs based on cellphones (similar to google cardboard but they provided better comfort and solutions such as a proper headstrap, external headphones and better padding). Their earlier BOBOVR Z5, Z4, and Z3 Headsets were targeted towards various Asian nations, were reasonably priced, and performed admirably throughout the earlier VR era using smartphones.
