AMVR is not a newcomer to the VR accessory industry, having previously released several facial interfaces and VR accessories for the Oculus Rift CV1 and Rift S models. We tested several of their previous interfaces, which were far superior and comfortable to the ones supplied in the sets.

They now have a whole line of incredible accessories that cover Meta Quest 2, Pico 4, which includes some cradles, docks, and universal accessories that also support Sony’s PSVR2 and Meta Quest Pro.

We now have the opportunity to put their new AMVR Neck Hanging Power Bank to the test! A considerably greater alternative to the cumbersome strapped battery pack used by some users.

At first glance, the materials utilized in its construction appear to be sturdy and of great quality.
The power bank has a sleek black contour with matte glossy finishes. The neck band is composed of a bendable rod covered in rubber material and can be simply be aligned with anyone’s build and neck size. A magnetic-like cable that connects from end to end keeps the power bank stable and locked at all times.

The battery capacity of this power bank is listed at 8000mah, offering Meta Quest 2 an additional 3.5 to 4.0 hours of extra play time. We were able to play for about 5.5 hours straight running our usual exercise test games such as Beat Saber, Pistol Whip while streaming virtual desktop with our settings and it still had some power left. Charging was also simple as it is charged and delivered using just a single USB-Type C connector.

Placing it around our neck may appear hefty, yet it adds almost no extra weight because it weighs only 11 ounces / 300grams. We found it simply pleasant and was amazed at how extra time in VR was simple and fun.

Aside from trying it on the Meta Quest 2, we also tried plugging it into our tablets and phone devices that were streaming videos and movies, and it works as a convenient way to charge these gadgets when you’re lounging on the couch.

What we believed it could improve on in the future is :
– a bag or carry case (we found it abit troublesome to take it around with us on the go)
– more color options (who doesn’t want a white version to complement or some colors to go with your lifestyle)
– quick charging will make it even more awesome

Finally, at its asking price of $33.99, it feels well worth it and allows us to immerse ourselves further in virtual reality without worrying of adding extra weights to your head. Its distinguishing feature is that it is extremely comfortable and adaptable in its application.
