Producer of Girl Group AKB48 to Launch Metaverse Idol A J-pop metaverse project is being worked on by Yasushi Akimoto, a Japanese music producer who has a track record of successfully promoting girl groups like AKB48 and Nogizaka46. They are working together at Overs Co. Ltd., a local crypto startup.
Overs has revealed that the metaverse would be funded through an initial exchange offering (IEO), in which a company offers new coins on an established exchange to earn funds. Information regarding the new J-pop band has not yet been made public.
The metaverse idol group is scheduled to make their debut in the winter of 2023 after Overs launches the IEO early the following year.
