When I first saw the announcement from Zen Studios that Star Wars Pinball was going VR, I immediately jumped at the chance to try it out. I directly purchased from the Meta Quest store without hesitation. Such a simple yet addictive entertainment experience to enjoy in Virtual Reality.

Just as I expected, Star Wars Pinball VR ended up being so much fun because it makes you feel like you’re playing a real-life Star Wars-themed pinball cabinet, all while being bombarded with sound effects, flying particles and fanservice to make fans smile with joy. This isn’t a port of the original nineteen tables available in the mobile version of Star Wars Pinball or PC version. There are only eight tables, and all eight are greatly well-designed, featuring small objectives and minigames to feel different from one another. This also gives you enough reason to put your time and effort into every one of them.

Being a Star Wars named game, this means that everything is themed around your favourite franchise. The game begins with you inside your own personal space, where you decorate it with many Star Wars memorabilia, posters and even statues earned by completing objectives in each of the tables. Placing an X-wing or a Millenium Falcon replica and other figures in the shelves and you can decorate an entire room with all of them! Just like any Star Wars game released Star Wars Pinball VR features an absolutely pristine soundtrack. Every single theme song, famous track from all the movies, and the Mandalorian TV show. Classic sound effects, such as a TIE Fighter zooming by, are also here.

After playing Star Wars Pinball VR for a good 20+ hours, our verdict is that it’s a great pinball game for Star Wars fans! Showcasing the franchise’s original experience from the trilogy to the newer segments would suit the older and younger fans. It features so much content for a pinball game and so much delightful fun & happiness while Vader and Luke stare you down by the tables. The VR capabilities bring you a well immersiveness into the experience. It almost felt like I travelled back in time at an arcade playing a pinball table back in the 80s.

A different and unique experience when playing VR. I never thought it would feel like an almost actual pinball machine. Controls of the button pushing and plunger could be improved, though.
